Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026 · Last updated: September 28, 2026
This policy describes how Patrice M. Jean (“BriskEngine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use www.briskengine.com and the BriskEngine service. Questions: support@briskengine.com.
Who we are
BriskEngine is a software tool that helps wholesale and fulfillment teams turn purchase orders (PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and documents) into warehouse-ready pick tickets and packing lists. We are a business-to-business service. We are not a consumer social network and we do not sell personal information.
Operator: Patrice M. Jean
Scope
This policy covers:
- our website and marketing pages;
- accounts, trials, and paid subscriptions;
- files you upload and data we extract from them;
- review links you send to your own customers;
- emails, chat, and support messages.
It does not cover third-party sites we link to, or how your customers handle data after they open a review link you sent them.
Information we collect
Account and contact information
When you create an account, start a trial, join a waitlist, or contact us, we collect information such as name, work email, company name, role, phone number (if you give it), password or authentication tokens, and billing details if you become a paying customer.
Customer Content (purchase orders and related files)
To provide the service you (or people on your team) upload files and text, including purchase orders, photos of orders, spreadsheets, Word documents, ship-to details, SKUs, colors, size runs, quantities, customer names, and notes. We call this Customer Content.
Customer Content often includes business information about your buyers (company name, ship-to address, order lines). You are the controller of that information. We process it only to provide the service to you.
Extracted and generated data
Our systems read Customer Content and create structured fields and documents, such as PO numbers, line items, color/size breakdowns, flagged lines, pick tickets, packing lists, and correction history. That output is also Customer Content.
Usage and device data
We collect technical and product-usage data: pages viewed, features used, upload success/failure, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, referring URL, and diagnostic logs. We use this to run, secure, and improve the product.
Communications
If you email us, book a trial check-in, or send feedback (including the Day-7 / Day-14 notes described in our trial guide), we keep that correspondence.
Cookies and similar tools
We use cookies and similar technologies that are:
- Essential — sign-in, security, load balancing;
- Analytics — to understand which pages and features are used (for example a privacy-respecting analytics tool);
- Marketing — only if you visit our public marketing pages and your browser settings allow it.
You can block non-essential cookies in your browser. The product may not work if you block essential cookies.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage your account and trial;
- extract order fields and generate pick tickets / packing lists;
- show you a review or correction screen;
- send a one-click review link when you ask us to;
- provide support and founder check-ins;
- bill you if you become a paying customer;
- secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug failures;
- improve accuracy and features using aggregated or de-identified signals where possible;
- send product, trial, and service emails (you can opt out of non-essential marketing);
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
How AI is used
BriskEngine uses automated systems, including third-party machine-learning models, to read files you upload and propose structured order data.
AI output can be wrong. You must review flagged lines and the final pick ticket before anyone picks or ships.
We do not sell Customer Content.
We do not use your identifiable Customer Content to train public or general-purpose models.
We may use de-identified or aggregated patterns (for example “photo POs of handwritten size runs fail more often”) to improve extraction quality.
If a third-party model provider processes a file in order to return an extraction, that provider acts as our processor and may not use that file to train their public models where their terms allow us to opt out. We will maintain a current subprocessors list on request.
Who we share information with
We share information only as follows:
- Your team. People you invite to the same account can see Customer Content on that account.
- Your buyers, when you choose. If you send a review link, the recipient can see the order details included in that link so they can confirm or correct them.
- Service providers (processors). Hosting, storage, databases, email delivery, analytics, error logging, payment processing, and AI extraction vendors. They may only use the data to perform work for us.
- Legal and safety. If required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of the business (the buyer must honor this policy or give notice).
- With your direction. Integrations you enable, or exports you download and send yourself.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Customer Content ownership
You retain all rights you already have in Customer Content. We need a limited license to host, parse, display, generate tickets from, and back up that content so the product works. That license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for residual copies in encrypted backups that rotate out on a normal schedule, or copies we must keep for legal reasons.
How long we keep information
- Account data — while the account is open, then a reasonable period after closure for records and disputes.
- Customer Content — while you keep it in the product. After you delete an order or close the account we remove live copies within 30 days, and backup copies within 90 days, unless law requires longer.
- Trial files — treated as Customer Content. If a trial goes silent and we pause the seat, files remain until you ask us to delete them or the retention window above runs.
- Logs — typically 12 months or less, unless needed for security investigations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on production systems, and least-privilege access for people who support the product. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not upload files you are not allowed to process. Black out unit costs or other fields you do not want stored, if your own policy requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- access and update account profile information;
- download or delete orders from the product (or ask us to);
- close your account;
- opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link;
- ask us not to use de-identified snippets of your tickets in product demos — email support@briskengine.com
Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, and the EEA/UK/Switzerland), you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict certain personal data, and to appeal a denial. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Send requests to support@briskengine.com. We may need to verify the request came from the account owner.
If we process personal data about your buyers only as your processor, we will route their request back to you unless the law requires us to handle it directly.
California notice (CCPA / CPRA)
In the last 12 months we may have collected the categories listed above: identifiers, commercial information (order files), internet activity, and professional information. We use them for the business purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. To exercise California rights, email support@briskengine.com with the subject line “California privacy request.”
Children
BriskEngine is for business users. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information, contact support@briskengine.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
We currently operate infrastructure in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your country. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms with our processors.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. If a change is material, we will post a notice on the site or email the account owner. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
